Maxine Mangold Haby

Maxine Mangold Haby, of Rio Medina, passed away on August 30, 2020 at the age of 93 years. She was born January 24, 1927 in Castroville, Texas to Adolph Stephen Mangold and Hilda Theresa Reicherzer Mangold.
On May 7, 1949, Maxine married Leroy Joseph Haby at St. Louis Catholic Church. Maxine and Leroy celebrated their sixty-sixth anniversary one month before Leroy passed away on June 20, 2015.
Survivors include her children, Eloise (Frank) Kauffmann of Rio Medina, Susan (Curtis) Nickel of San Antonio, Audrey (Richard) Love of Rio Medina, Leroy J. (Sharon) Haby, Jr. of Somerville and Curtis R. (Jeanie) Haby of Rio Medina; grandchildren, Frankie (Sara) Kauffmann, Sarah Naegelin, Paula (Scott) Dean, Loran (Landon) Ricord, Julie (Kevin) Smith, Travis (Randalyn) Nickel, Taylor Haby, Jordan Haby, Brynn Haby, Caeley Haby and Lacy Haby; great-grandchildren, Trey Kauffmann, Leyton Kauffmann, Kelsi Kauffmann, Alexandrea Naegelin, Gerald Naegelin, Coltyn Dean, Bryson Dean, Riley Ricord, Kaydence Ricord,Kenslie Smith, Macie Smith, Corbin Smith, Adalyn Nickel and Trenton Nickel; brother-in-law, Louis J. “L.J.” (Barbara) Haby of Medina Lake; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Haby; brothers, Harold Mangold and Wilmer J. “Shorty”(Agnes) Mangold; brothers-in-law, Wallace (Leora Belzung) Haby, Emmett R. (Barbara Biediger Groff) Haby.
Public Visitation will be Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 10:30 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
Please Note; the number of people allowed in church is limited to 120 for the Mass of the Resurrection. Face coverings are required and social distancing shall be practiced.
Memorials may be made in Maxine’s memory to St. Louis Catholic School, Church or Cemetery.
