
Max P. Cuellar, 74, entered into eternal rest, Friday, November 26, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents Isidoro and Maxisimina Cuellar, his brother Higinio (Kenny) Cuellar, and his son-in-law, Bryan Wray.
Max is survived by his wife of 51 years Laura Chapa Cuellar and three daughters Teresa Lynn (Wesley) Hernandez, Denise (James) Garcia, and Tracey (Leonardo) Camarillo; four granddaughters, Mackenzie Nicole Wray, Shia Gabriella, Liela Isabela, Kaya Daniela Camarillo; his brother Ambrosio (Grace) Cuellar, four sisters Lucia Chapa, Guadalupe Quinones, Reymunda Reyna, Mary (Joe) Lopez, brother-in-law Hector (Zulema) Chapa and numerous nieces and nephews.
Max was a man who lived by his convictions in business and with his family. He loved absolutely and took great pride in being the best son, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Max spent 37 years as an Allstate agent in Del Rio, Texas. He took tremendous pride in his work and established relationships that extended beyond traditional business dealings. He worked tirelessly to support the community around him by helping people in need especially during tragic family events or natural disasters. Max received numerous accolades and was awarded the opportunity to take his wife and children around the world.
The humility instilled in him during his upbringing in Lytle, Texas created a welcoming personality. Max did not consider anyone a stranger, just a friend he was hoping to meet.
As a devout Catholic, he rejoiced in his faith. His life will be celebrated with a visitation to be held Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM followed by a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. This service will be held at Hurley Funeral Home located at 14822 Main St, Lytle TX 78052.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church located at 14831 Main St., Lytle, Texas with interment to follow in Lytle Community Cemetery.
