Marjorie Ann Willenberg age 90, of Natalia, Texas passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 in Natalia, Texas.
Marjorie Voight Willenberg was born and raised on a dairy in San Antonio Texas. She lived there until marrying the love of her life Tex Willenberg in 1950, soon after marring they moved to Natalia Texas. She was blessed with one child Cristy who she was very close with, son in law Kenny who she considered her son, grandson Layton who was the light of her life, his wife Leah who she adored, great granddaughter Kendall who she loved to watch play and baby Taylon whose giggle would make her day.
She worked for the Morris, Boatwright, Lewis and Davis Law Firm in downtown San Antonio for over 25 years. After that she became the librarian at Natalia High School for 13 years, where she served as mentor, counselor, teacher, grandmother, and most importantly friend to many students and coworkers over the years. This brought her lifelong relationships that she cherished for the rest of her life.
Marjorie enjoyed baking her famous deserts for her family and friends, playing dominoes, raising any kind of animal, listening to country music, and most of all spending time with her family. She was always proud of her family and never failed to put them ahead of everything else in her life. She was at every rodeo, football game, basketball game, stock show, or anything else Cristy, Kenny, or Layton was involved with. She was a friend to many and never met a stranger, quick to brag about her grandson Layton, always smiling, and was there when anyone needed her.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, August and Annie Voight; husband Tex Willenberg; sister Hazel Warden.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Cristy Herring (Kenny) of Natalia, Texas; Grandchild Layton Herring (Leah); Great-Grandchildren Kendall and Taylon Herring; special cousin Judy Christians and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Hurley Funeral Home of Lytle. Chapel Service will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 1:00 P.M. at Hurley Funeral Home of Lytle with interment to follow at Lytle Masonic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers make donations to Charity of Choice.
