Denis Nicholas Zinsmeyer, age 79 of Mico, passed away March 12, 2017 in San Antonio. Denis was born October 9, 1937 in San Antonio, the youngest of three children born to Frank Joseph Zinsmeyer and Mary Ahr Zinsmeyer. He graduated from St. Louis High School and went on to serve eight years in the U.S. Air Force. He returned home to the land he loved in Mico to farm and ranch.
Denis was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was very active in numerous church functions.
In addition to his parents, Frank and Mary, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Fernand Zinsmeyer and sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Ernest Bourquin.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Gladys Mae Zinsmeyer of San Antonio and nieces and nephews, Dorothy (Henry) DeCock of Atascosa, Katherine (Michael) Running of Rio Medina, Jerome Bourquin of Rio Medina, Helen (Dwain) Hawes of Rio Medina, Charles (Cathy) Zinsmeyer of San Antonio and Linda (Kim) Saathoff of Rockwall; as well as other relatives.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pmwith the Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, March 27, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
