Maria Solis Valderrama, of Castroville, passed away on January 4, 2019 in Castroville at the age of 66 years. She was born June 9, 1952 in Castroville, one of 14 children.
Maria married Conrado Valderrama on January 8, 1977 at St. Louis Catholic Church and were about to celebrate their forty-second anniversary. They were blessed with two sons, one daughter and five grandchildren.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Apolonio Solis, Sr. and Laura Mascorro Solis Gomez; step-father, Eduardo Gomez; twin sister, Ernestina (Robert) Vidalez; brothers, Mario Solis, Abram Solis, Ruben Solis, Johnny Joe Solis and sister-in-law, Lilley Solis.
Survivors include her husband, Conrado Valderrama, Sr., sons, Jose Guadalupe Valderrama, Conrado Valderrama, Jr.; daughter, Sophia Marisol Balderrama; grandchildren, Alec Andrew Valderrama, Timothy Conrado Valderrama, Sabrina Rae Jones-Valderrama, Jasmine Hazel Valderrama, Conrado Valderrama, III; siblings, Gloria (Camillo) Rodriguez, Alicia Ybarra, Martha Moreno, Carlos Solis, Apolonio “Paul” Solis, Jr., David (Olivia) Guel, Gary Gomez, Gene Gomez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was Thursday, January 10, 2019 starting at 5:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection was Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. A reception immediately followed the Mass at Braden Keller Center. Interment will follow at a later date at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
