One man was killed in a fatal Frio County accident this past December 6. It happened on US 57 near the Hondo Creek crossing around 10:30 am.
According to DPS, “Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a one vehicle rollover on US 57 in Frio County. The vehicle, a 2002 Gold Chevrolet Trail Blazer was traveling east on US 57. The Chevrolet travelled off the right edge of the roadway. The driver, identified as Juan Rafael De La Cruz, age 58, of San Antonio was pronounced deceased on scene by JP Shanna Gates. The crash report can be obtained at Texas.gov once the investigation is completed.”
The Texas Department of Public Safety would like to remind all drivers to slow down and adjust to adverse weather and road conditions. Drivers should minimize distractions, don’t drive fatigued, don’t drink and drive, obey traffic control devices and always wear your safety belt.
