Lytle Police Report June 15-21

June 15
12:06 AM – While on patrol at Lytle High School officer observed two males sitting on the curb in the school parking lot. Officer spoke to the men who stated they were waiting for a ride.
1:21 AM – Officer responded to IH 35 S at North Prong Atascosa River to assist Atascosa Co. and Bexar Co. with a crash.
2:40 AM – While patrolling the Days Inn, officer was flagged down by three men who requested use of jumper cables to start a vehicle.
2:55 AM – Officer responded to Pirate Express for a report of an activated alarm. Officer found the building to be secure and found no signs of criminal activity.
3:08 AM – Atascosa Co. Dispatched notified officer that a revolver that was stolen out of Lytle on 6/6/20 has been recovered by Bexar Co. SO and a suspect has been arrested.
3:59 AM – Officer responded to Lytle Nursing Home for a report of a nursing home patient attempting to leave the facility against the wishes of the staff. Officer talked to the patient into staying.
10:15 AM – Officers responded to IH 35 NB for a report of debris on the roadway causing traffic hazard. Officers searched the area, unable to locate.
10:23 AM – Officers responded to Diaz St. for a report of a suspicious person in the area. Officers reached the area, unable to locate.
2:06 PM – Officer responded to Patriot Gas for a report of graffiti on a shed door. Incident occurred over the weekend.
2:30 PM – Officer was contacted by complainant who wanted to report he lost his wallet somewhere in the City of Lytle. Complainant lost the wallet between 6/11/20 and 6/15/20.
5:17 PM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store to unlock a vehicle.
June 16
6:41 AM – Officer responded to Yumm for a report of suspicious activity.
9:28 AM – Officer responded to 19200 Blk. of D’Hanis St. for a report of a fire alarm. Officers arrived, all was okay.
9:56 AM – Officers responded to 15700 Blk. of FM 463 for a report of an injured deer that was hit by a vehicle. The deer was deceased and it was picked up by Lytle Animal Control.
10:15 AM – Officers responded to Guys and Gals for a report of merchandise being broken. Further investigation revealed some type of rodent knocked over several items causing some of them to break.
11:50 AM – Officers provided funeral escort through Main St. to the Lytle Community Cemetery.
1:37 PM – Officer responded to 19600 Blk. of Bruce St. for a welfare check on four young children being left alone. Upon arrival, it was discovered that one of the children was 14 YO. All of the children were okay.
3:30 PM – Officers responded to Dollar General for a report of a shoplifter in the store. Upon arrival, the female had left the store and the on-duty manager stated she believed the theft occurred but was unavailable to prove the theft at that time.
4:10 PM – Complainant stopped by the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to a hit & run that occurred at HEB Plus on 6/15/20.
6:34 PM – Officer responded to Lytle Nursing Home for a report of a death.
6:35 PM – Complainant called the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to a verbal disturbance that occurred while at HEB Plus.
9:10 PM – Officers responded to Walter Joyce Stadium for a report of minors walking on the track. The three minor departed without incident.
11:59 PM – Officer responded to Pirate Express for a report of an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.
June 17
2:12 AM – While conducting a business check at Diamond S Buildings officer found a forklift with the ignition key present. Officer took the key for safekeeping.
2:35 AM – Officer responded to 20000 Blk. of IH 35 S for a report of a suicidal person in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officer made contact with an individual that threatened to kill himself with a firearm. A handgun was taken from the subject and he was subsequently transported to Southwest General Hospital on an emergency detention.
8:40 AM – Officer responded to Diaz St. and conducted follow up on an open case.
9:20 AM – Officer visited 14 businesses around town and follow up to see if there was anything they needed help with.
9:57 AM – Officer responded to Railroad St. at N Somerset St. to assist Atascosa EMS with an elderly female having difficulty breathing.
11:37 AM – Officer responded to 19400 Blk. of S Somerset St. for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, the parties were apart and in separate location on the property.
1:25 PM – Officer responded to 19400 Blk. of S Somerset St. for a report of grandparents taking a child without permission. Upon arrival, it was discovered the child was in the home and never left the residence. The grandparents were advised to always contact the parents if they leave with the child.
8:12 PM – Officers responded to Bealls for a report of a black vehicle doing burnouts in the parking lot. Officers made contact with the suspect who admitted to doing burnouts. Officer gave him a warning and released him.
9:01 PM – Officers responded to IH 35 S on ramp for a report of a vehicle on fire. The driver was okay and did not need medical. The fire started in the interior behind the glove-box. Lytle Vol. Fire Dept. controlled the fire.
June 18
12:27 AM – Officers responded to 19800 Blk. of Creek St. for a report of suspicious noises coming from complainant’s front yard and suspected someone was breaking into her vehicle. Officers searched the area and the vehicle and found no signs of criminal activity. Extra patrol requested.
4:12 AM – Officer responded to Pirate Express for a report of an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure, no signs of criminal activity.
8:25 AM – Officer responded to 15100 Blk. of Railroad St. for a report of criminal mischief. The incident had already been reported.
9:50 AM – Officer visited 27 businesses around town and follow up to see if there was anything they needed help with.
10:28 AM – Officer responded to 20000 Blk. of IH 35 Access Rd. for a welfare check on a man in a ditch near the Taqueria Jalisco. Officer checked both sides of the IH 35 access road and was unable to locate.
11:16 AM – Officers responded to 15100 Blk. of Main St. for a report of a hang up call. The area was searched without observing any caller. Officers were unable to locate.
12:45 PM – Complainant stopped by and turned in found property. Officer located the owner and property was mailed to them.
4:16 PM – Officer responded to FM 3175 at IH 35 for a report of a reckless driver.
7:33 AM – Officer responded to 18700 Blk. of Wisdom Rd. for a report of a welfare check of small children playing in the middle of the street. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
10:25 PM – While at Fincher Parkway, officer observed a vehicle attempting to enter the closed and private park access. Officer spoke with the driver who stated he used to live in Lake Shore Estates and wanted to hand out with his girlfriend at the lake. Officer advised him that the park closed at sunset and it was for residents only.
11:44 PM – While patrolling the area at the 15000 Blk. of Main St. officer made contact with a suspicious man on a bicycle carrying a backpack. Officer identified the male who stated he was out riding trying to get rid of a headache and stated that he had beer in his backpack.
June 19
12:43 AM – Officer responded to John Lott Pavilion for a report of a verbal disturbance between a man and a woman. Officer spoke to both subjects and they both confirmed that they were having a relationship discussion that got heated. All was verbal only.
10:58 AM – Officer responded to Community National Bank to unlock a vehicle.
2:16 PM – Officer responded to Main St. at McDonald St. for a report of a reckless driver. Officer made contact, all was okay.
2:20 PM – Officer responded to Old Schwan’s Building for a report of a suspicious activity. Officer made contact with subject who was at the site picking up scrap metal with authority of person who took the building down.
7:43 PM – Officer responded to 19400 Blk. of S. Somerset St. and talked to complainant in reference to an assault that had occurred the day before. Complainant did not wish to pursue a criminal charge just wanted to speak with an officer about it.
9:05 PM – Officer responded to 700 Blk. of FM 3175 to assist Atascosa Co. Deputy with a suicidal 15 YO female possible armed with a knife walking away from her residence. Officer located the female and guardian took her Southwest General Hospital for an evaluation.
11:57 PM – Officer responded to 300 Blk. of Ala Blanca for a report of a 911 hang up call. Officer spoke with the owner of the phone who stated all way okay and there was no emergency.
June 20
12:36 AM – Officer responded to 18500 Blk. of IH 35 S to assist Bexar Co. with locating a rollover accident. Officer located the vehicle, which was on its passenger side door and assisted with extracting the trapped driver. Scene released to Bexar Co. S.O. upon their arrival.
1:37 AM – Officer responded to 19400 Blk. of FM 2790 N for a report of a natural death under hospice care.
2:04 AM – Officer responded to IH 35 N for a BOLO for a suspect who fled Devine PD with a handgun after committing an assault. Officer was unable to locate.
4:13 AM – Officer responded to Chevron for a report of a man being assaulted by three other men at the parking lot and that they had thrown the victim into the bed or a white pickup truck. Upon reviewing the video, it was showed subjects changing a tire.
8:02 AM – Officer was stopped by a resident on Pine St. who talked to officer in reference to a suspicious vehicle at 4:00 am this morning. A white pickup truck drove to the end of the street and left the area.
10:25 AM – Officers responded to Taco Bell for a report of a kitchen fire. Upon arrival, the small fire had been extinguished. A flat-top cooker caught fire due to excessive grease that was neglected during cleaning.
12:57 PM – Officer responded to 18300 Blk. of Wisdom Rd. for a report of an alarm. Upon arrival, officer met with the homeowner’s sister that contacted the owner. A worker had opened the garage door.
6:05 PM – Complainant stopped by the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to a subject wanting to report an assault that occurred the previous night. The incident occurred outside the city jurisdiction therefore the subject was referred to Medina Co.
11:10 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus to unlock a vehicle.
June 21
1:05 AM – Officer responded to Ala Blanca to assist Atascosa Co. with a report of shots fired. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
5:35 PM – Officer responded to Valero for a report of a theft. Officer arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant who stated an unknown male subject made out with $58 worth of beer.
9:27 PM – Officer responded to Hacienda Jaliciense for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle departed prior to officer’s arrival.
10:00 PM – Officers responded to 700 Blk. of FM 3175 to assist Atascosa Co. with an assault.
11:55 PM – Officer responded to Pirate Express for a report of an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.
