Lytle Police Report June 14-20

June 14
2:21 AM – While on patrol at CR 6710 near FM 2790 S, officer almost hit a bull. The bull went into the field north of Animal Control, but officer could not follow.
6:03 AM – Officer responded to CR 6710 near FM 2790 S for a report of a loose cow. It was the same bull from earlier. The bull was in the grassy field just north of Animal Control. Officer was able to move it further into the field and away from the road but the bull was very stubborn and difficult to move.
6:55 AM – Officer responded to 63300 Blk. of Diaz St. for a report of six bags of trash dumped on the side of the street. Public works was notified and the trash was removed.
10:19 AM – Officers responded to 19300 Blk. of Blume Dr. for a report of a contractor getting water from a fire hydrant. Officers located the contractor who is a contractor for CPS and in the area locating gas lines. The driver was not aware he was not within SAWS water area as they have a standing agreement and meters for SAWS which he used when getting water. The driver advised he filled the water tank which holds 150 gallons. Officers advised the driver they would send a report to Lytle City Hall so that a bill for water could be generated.
1:53 PM – Officers responded to 19700 Blk. of IH 35 S Frontage Road for a report of a two vehicle crash. 2:56 PM Lt. Dear – Reckless Driver Officer responded to IH 35 SB for a report of a reckless driver. Officer searched the area,
unable to locate.
4:50 PM – Officer responded to FM 2490 N for a report of a stray cow. The cow walked into a field and was not creating a traffic hazard. The call was forwarded to Medina Co. Sheriff’s Office since it was outside Lytle PD jurisdiction.
10:12 PM – Officer responded to 15200 Blk. of Main St. and talked to complainant in reference to noise complaint.
June 15
8:36 AM – Officer responded to 15700 Blk. of Main St. to follow up on an illegal dumping case.
9:05 AM – Officer responded to Lytle State Bank (14600 Blk. of FM 2790) for a report of subjects popping fireworks. Officer was unable to locate the subjects.
10:09 AM – Officer responded to Lytle Mini Storage (19200 Blk. of N. Somerset St.) for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined that the vehicle belonged to a tenant.
11:20 AM – Officers responded to Best Western Plus (19800 Blk. of IH 35 N) to assist CPS with a welfare check to locate a 2 YO male child taken by his father. Officers were unable to locate.
11:50 AM – Officer responded to 15400 Blk. of Laredo St. for a report of an internet scam. The resident claimed she was approached to interpret for the deaf through a UK-based company.
2:00 PM – Officer responded to Best Western Plus (19800 Blk. of IH 35 N) for a report of a welfare check on an 86 YO elderly male. The male was transported to Texas Vista Hospital.
3:38 PM – Officers responded to 19200 Blk. of First St. and talked to complainant in reference to a Protective Order.
4:45 PM – Officers responded to Dollar Tree (14900 Blk. of Main St.) for a welfare check on four children under the age of 5 years old left in the vehicle alone.
5:26 PM – fficers responded to FM 2790 N at Main St. for a report of a two vehicle crash.
11:10 PM – Officers responded to El Bufalo Pawn (14600 Blk. of FM 2790 E) for a report of an alarm. Officers found the building to be secure.
June 16
12:22 AM – Officers responded to 300 Las Palomas to assist Atascosa Co. Deputy with locating a female subject involved in a disturbance.
6:07 AM – Officer responded to NAPA (19700 Blk. of IH 35 Frontage Rd.) for a report of an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.
8:42 AM – Officer responded to 14800 Blk. of Main St. for a welfare check on a female slumping over a grocery basket. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
8:45 AM – Officer assisted the public with fingerprints for employment purposes.
10:00 AM – Complainant stopped by the Police Station and reported a two vehicle crash that had occurred at Bill Miller BBQ (19700 Blk. of IH 35 S).
5:45 PM – Officer responded to 14900 Blk. of StarCross Trail for a report of a civil matter – property dispute.
9:39 PM – Complainant called the Police Station and talked to an officer in reference to threats that were made against her life by an ex-boyfriend.
June 17
12:14 AM – Officer responded to 19800 Blk. of IH 35 S and talked to complainant about one of his workers who did not show up for work. He was later located, safe and sound.
10:36 AM – Officer responded to 17900 Blk. of Wisdom Rd. for a report of a civil matter regarding an easement.
11:00 AM – Officer responded to 15000 Blk. of Main St. for a report of two homeless men staying in the area that are no longer wanted on the property. The subjects will be located and advised to move.
11:55 AM – Officer responded to Chevron (15200 Blk. of Main St.) for a report of an unknown person that spray-painted on one of the fuel pumps. Incident occurred between closing on 6/16/21 and today.
9:07 PM – Officer responded to NAPA (19700 Blk. of IH 35 S) for a report of an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.
10:00 PM – Complainant called Atascosa Co. Sheriff’s Office to report a possible sexual assault incident that occurred in Lytle. Case under investigation.
June 18
1:10 AM – Officer attempted a traffic stop at the 15000 Blk. of Main St. for speeding. The driver refused to stop and continued on the shoulder for about one mile before driving back onto Main St. Officer called a pursuit when the driver got back onto Main St. and accelerated. The driver eventually stopped and exited the vehicle. The driver was released after it was determined that he wasn’t trying to evade the police.
5:40 AM – Traffic stop for a suspicious vehicle at the new subdivision behind Best Western Plus resulted in discovery that it was a paving company employee checking on his equipment.
9:53 AM – Officer responded to IH 35 SB for a report of a reckless driver. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
10:47 AM – Officer responded to Laredo St. at N. Prairie St. for a report of an individual walking in the area. Officer located the male and provided a courtesy ride to his residence.
12:58 PM – Officer responded to 19300 Blk. of First St. for a report of a trespasses. Officer made contact with the male and discovered he was not aware he was trespassing. He was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and asked not to return to the property.
2:03 PM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store (19500 Blk. of McDonald St.) to unlock a vehicle.
3:00 PM – Officer responded to 19500 Blk. of Florence St. for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of complainant’s residence. Officer located the vehicle, all way okay.
7:10 PM – Officer responded to 19300 Blk. of Dawson St. and talked to complainant about a vehicle that was used past the allotted time provided by the owner.
7:25 PM – Officers responded to HEB C-Store (19500 Blk. of McDonald St.) for a report of a reckless driver. Officers located the vehicle and followed it out of town. No traffic violations were observed.
7:31 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 NB Frontage Rd. at FM 2790 to assist Atascosa Co. with locating a vehicle that was stolen out of South Wind Subdivision. Officer was unable to locate.
10:09 PM – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Shawn Short (26) for having an Active Warrant out of Kendall Co. for Dangerous Drugs. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail where the detention officer found a baggie of Methamphetamine in subjects bra during a routine booking search. Subject was charged with Prohibited Substances in Correctional Facilities.
11:47 PM – Officers responded to HEB C-Store (19500 Blk. of McDonald St.) for a report of a verbal disturbance between husband and wife. The husband departed prior to officers’ arrival. The wife stated no threats or physical contact was made.
June 19
1:18 AM – Officers responded to 14500 Blk. of Chance Dr. for a welfare check on a 911 hang up call. Officers spoke with the resident who stated it was accidental.
1:44 AM – Officers responded to Best Western Plus (19800 Blk. of IH 35 N) for a report of a suspicious female walking around the parking lot. Officers located the female and provided a courtesy ride to her residence.
5:00 AM – Officer responded to 19800 Blk. of Bruce St. for a welfare check on a 911 hang up call. Officer spoke to the residents who stated they were having an argument and the female called 911 out of anger.
8:05 AM – Officer responded to Lytle Animal Control (19700 Blk. of W FM 2790) and assisted with traffic control for a 5K benefit run.
8:14 AM – Officer responded to Lake Shore Dr. for a report of suspicious persons at the mailbox on Lake Shore. The suspicious persons turned out to be the water man for the 5K run.
9:08 AM – Complainant stopped by the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to a civil matter – child custody.
9:54 AM – Officer responded to McDonald’s (14800 Blk. of Lytle-Somerset St.) to unlock a vehicle.
11:00 AM – Officer responded to 15800 Blk. of CR 681 for a report of an Illegal Open Burn. The homeowner was burning limbs and asked to put out the fire and contact the city for a permit for future burning.
2:37 PM – Officers responded to HEB C-Store (19500 Blk. of McDonald St.) for a report of a reckless driver. Officers spoke to both parties and advised them to use caution when driving.
7:43 PM – Officer responded to Camino Real Crisis Center (19900 Blk. of FM 3175) for a report of a patient walking off the facility voluntarily. The complainant stated the patient was not under any obligation to stay but wanted Lytle PD to be aware.
9:35 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 S for a report of a reckless driver. Officer searched the area, unable
to locate.
June 20
7:41 AM – Officer responded to 19800 Blk. of IH 35 for a report of an active disturbance. Upon arrival, it was discovered the male and female were arguing only. The male stated the female damaged his hood and windshield but he did not want to press charges. The male left the scene to calm down.
2:10 PM – Officers responded to FM 3175 at IH 35 Access Rd. to assist Atascosa Co. Deputy with a disturbance.
3:10 PM – Officers responded to 15000 Blk. of Lytle-Somerset St. for a report of a civil mater – property dispute.
3:33 PM – Officers responded to 19000 Blk. of N Prairie St. an talked to complainant in reference to an unwanted ex-boyfriend at the residence. Upon arrival, the male had left the premises and the complainant was instructed to call the Police when he returned.
4:07 PM – Officers responded to 15000 Blk. of Lytle-Somerset St. for a report of an unwanted female at the property. Upon arrival, the female had departed.
8:49 PM – Officers responded to Hacienda Jaliscience (20000 Blk. of IH 35 S) for a report of an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.
10:55 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 N to assist Medina Co. to locate a white 18-wheeler that was involved in an accident and did not stop. Officer searched the area, unable to locate
