Lytle Varsity Pirates battled Brackettville in a scrimmage this past week. Coach Robert McConathy and staff liked what they saw, and are ready for their next game at Poth Friday, August 28.
McConathy said “We moved the ball well. We did some cool stuff and learned a lot. Scrimmages like this give us an opportunity to see our stuff at work against another team.”
Player highlights of the week: Mark Cantu, Carson Aldrige, Kody Villarreal, and Roberson Harold “all had great games on both sides of the ball,” McConathy said.
Cantu ran for a nice 60+ yard touchdown in the scrimmage.
“Defensively, we were flying around, getting to where we needed to be. We had to face some really big guys, one who was almost 6’5”, and we handled them all well,” McConathy adds.

The JV Pirates will battle Poth at home on August 27.
