Delivery & Curbside

Local restaurants like RJ’s Cafe and Queta’s Mexican Cuisine are offering curbside service, and Queta’s is delivering to area homes as well.

One local restaurant, Queta’s Mexican Cuisine, opened only a month before the nationwide pandemic gripped our area.

Co-owner Jose Mares commented, “Business has been really slow, and we have cut hours and items from the menu simply because we do not have necessities….It’s also been extra hard since we also just opened a month ago…..but we still have our regular customers, that we are really thankful for. We are open from 8am-8pm right now.”

Local car dealerships are offering to “come to you” for customers wanting to have limited contact with others.

Leslie and Jeremy Vail, who own and operate a local photography business commented,  “We have been dealing with so many emotions. Spring time is one of our busiest times of the year between Weddings, Senior portrait sessions and family portraits. This is the time of year we depend on the most for our income…….We have already had weddings be rescheduled & we are working very closely with all our brides & grooms to ensure we can change the date & make their wedding changes as smooth as possible. Our hearts are breaking for all of our seniors, brides & grooms. These are major milestones in their lives that are being postponed…Our prayers go out to all the other businesses in our community as this time as it is not easy for anyone.”

Income tax deadline extended

Get More Insurance and Tax Services in Devine is one of many businesses in Devine who are still operating, but have closed lobbies to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

“We are still open, however our lobby is closed. We are handing business by phone or email. UPS packages can be dropped off on the desk outside during business hours and we will process them once you are back in your car,” stated Robin Rutledge.

“The deadline for filing and paying your income tax has been extended to July 15,” said owner Cynthia Sultenfuss. “Of course if you’re getting a refund they suggest you go ahead and file so you get your refund. We can do taxes by the client emailing us the info or dropping in our box outside and we will get them done! As we go through the next few weeks, things may change again.”
