Totaling over 1,100 acres, 750+ new homes coming

This past June 10, Medina County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a plat establishing the first 14 lots of the 520-acre Sandhurst subdivision on Interstate 35. Precinct 4 Commissioner Danny Lawler, representing the precinct where the new subdivision is located, made the motion to approve the plat.
“They’ve done the water study, feasibility study and drainage study,” Lawler said. However, he noted that some roads in the project are not currently up to county specification. The final plats have not been approved, but the county expects approximately 130 lots in this subdivision.
The Sandhurst will be located near the weigh station just south of the old Morales Feedlot on the southbound side of the interstate. Some of the Sandhurtst lots are in Devine’s school district, while some is in Frio County, Lawler noted later.
