Lady Pirates now ranked #22 in State

Your Varsity Girls Basketball Team has started out strong in the district race. They only had 4 days off over the break and their dedication and commitment is beyond the expectations set for them. I am so proud of this group and so happy for my SENIORS! Lytle 57 Natalia 36, Lytle 77 Cotulla 28, Lytle 63 Jourdanton 30.
When we faced Jourdanton on January 1, we beat them 63-30. Our press seems to give our opponents trouble and that is causing turnovers on them and we are scoring points off them. I had 5 players in double figures in this game and that excites me because we our sharing the ball and everyone is getting involved in the offense. When you look to scout us it is hard to say who will score each game.
Fizz Hutton 15 points 12 steals. Noelia Medina 14 points. Kylie mask 10 points 4 steals and 2 charges. Caylssa Sevier 12 points 7 steals. Cadee Martinez 10 points.
I feel we have not played our best basketball yet and we are going to peak at the perfect time as long as we stay healthy and injury free. What I love about this group is you would not think they are 4-0 they are so humble. Their dedication over the Christmas break was unbelievable the way the games were scheduled they only got 4 days off we practiced everyday bedsides that. Including New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. It’s still early with a 14 team district to think about playoffs right now it is one game at a time. Once we finish this first round and face Poth that second time at their place then we will start looking to the post season. We will play Poteet on Friday, in Karnes City Tuesday, and in Poth on January 15th.
Highlights from the last couple of games. Fizz Hutton had a season high 23 points and 13 steals her first double double and 114 points for the season. Caylssa Sevier had 17 points and 11 assists her first double double and 319 points for the season. Kylie Mask 16 charges for the season and 114 points for the season. Noelia Medina 149 points for the season. Cadee Martinez 108 points for the season. As a Team we are averaging 28 steals a game, 54.8 points a game.
Lytle was ranked #25 in the standings and they just came out today and we moved up to #22.
