Lady Pirates are aiming for playoffs

Volleyball is over for the Lady Pirates and they have all ready turned their eyes to basketball playoffs. Led by Coach Lori Wilson, the team is looking to improve on last season’s overall record of 10-15 and district 8-2. With 8 returning varsity and 5 returning JV, the Pirates have a great shot at a play off run. They will only have a JV and Varsity team this season.
“Goals will be defiantly to finish in the top 2 for district and to make it passed the first round of playoffs. I have had the 5 seniors with my program so the expectations are high this year. A goal that you would never think you would have to have is to keep reinforcing to the girls that when they leave that gym door to make good decisions and practice all the proper guidelines with social distancing and masking up.I hope to improve on the defense side I feel with this group I have we can play more man to man defense and press a lot more.” Coach Wilson
Lytle scrimmaged Uvalde on Saturday and Pearsall on Monday. Their first home game isn’t until December 1st against Hondo but they will face La Vernia November 10th, Comfort Nov. 13th, Marion Nov. 17th, Southside Nov. 20, and Pleasanton Nov 24th. District starts December 15th against Poth at home.
