Lady Mustangs working hard

The Lady Mustangs had a rough last week in basketball; they fell to Hondo and Somerset but are working hard to get back into the basketball rhythm. Now 0-3 for the season, Coach Steven Spangler and his team will have to work hard in the Floresville tournament this weekend.
Facing Hondo on November 9th, the teams were tied at 7-7 at the end of the first but the Owls slowly took the lead. They held Natalia to just two points in the third. With a final score of 20-33, Natalia held the Owls back from running away with the game.
Tina Fulton 10 points, 3 steals, 2 assists. Kylee Spangler 6 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist. Heidi Vazquez 2 points, 4 rebounds. Jelli Padilla 2 points, Yahdi Lujan 1 point, 3 steals, 1 assist. Naomi Garcia 3 rebounds. Q1 7-7, Q2 12-17, Q3 14-21, Q4 20-33.
In Somerset on Friday, Natalia kept pace with the Bulldogs in the first half and were only down 1 at 12-13 at half time. When the third quarter started Somerset was more aggressive and Natalia fell to 22-31 by the end of the 3rd. With Somerset in their groove, Natalia did everything they could to keep up but the game ended 32-65 in Somerset’s favor.
