The Natalia Lady Mustang Track and Field squads battled stiff competition in Crystal City last week. When it was all said and done, Natalia as a team finished in 7th out of 8 teams with 16 team points. Pearsall was able to win the meet with 186.5 points, followed by Carrizo Springs (158) and Crystal City in 3rd with (114).
Natalia’s 4X100 M. Relay was able to win 5th place as the team of Jelli Padilla, Samantha Stallworth, Mariah Joseph and Tina Fulton ran a 53.87. Pearsall was able to win the event with a time of 50.59.
In the 4X400 M. Relay, Natalia’s team of Padilla, Fulton, Sophia Padilla and Meg Martinez finished in 3rd place with a time of 4:58.18. Crystal City won the event with a time of 4:30.37.
“The girls relay teams have really improved every week this season,” Coach Jason Reynolds said. “Each week their time is dropping and we are hoping that sets us up for a big day at district.”
District 30-3A Meet this week
Natalia will compete in the 30-3A meet starting today, Wednesday, April 3rd at Jourdanton starting at 12:00 p.m. Day two of the meet will be Thursday, April 5th and the meet will start at 4:00 p.m.
