The Lady Mustangs continue to have a great season despite being in a tough district. Going 1-1 last week against Poth and Dilley, Natalia is holding on to 5th place behind Lytle, Poth, Karnes City, and Cotulla. The Lady Mustangs are currently 7-7 in district and 9-20 overall. They have really turned their season around in district this year.
The Lady Mustangs surprised Poth on Tuesday night. Down 14-27 at the half, they came out strong and had one of their best 3rd quarters of the year. Outshooting Poth 14-8, the Lady Mustangs caught the Pirates off guard and continued to be a powerhouse in the 4th. Winning the quarter 12-11, Natalia really showed they can take on tougher teams and make them work harder than expected. Poth won the game but only by 6 points at 46-40. The Lady Mustangs should be proud of how well they played on Tuesday.

Taking Tuesday’s momentum into Friday’s game, to beat Dilley 70-26! This is their biggest win of the season with Padilla leading the team with 18 points! Natalia won every quarter with the second quarter being their best. They ended the 1st quarter 16-5 and by the half their lead grew to 40-13. Natalia finished the game as strong as they started to win it 70-26.
