Koin Timothy Gunn

Koin Timothy Gunn, age 66, of Devine, TX, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 15, 2023.
He was born in San Marcos, TX, on March 11, 1957 to parents Laverne Littleton Abraham and Koin D. Gunn.

Tim spent many childhood years visiting family in Devine where he met his wife-to-be, Linda Martin, while they were in high school. After marrying Linda in 1975 they moved to the Houston area where he began his career in construction. Returning to Devine to raise his family, he continued his strong work ethic and served his community for many years through volunteering with the Devine Fire Department and EMS. He was a hard worker from sun up to sun down and became known for his expertise in heavy construction. A few of his most talked about projects were creating many taxiways at airports throughout Texas in his earlier years, and building roads and dams at the Ox Ranch, where he enjoyed the quieter pace of working in the hill country in his later years. He finished his construction career with Medina County where he retired in 2022.
Tim was a quiet man when it came to words, but he always had a listening ear and a helping hand. He had a servant’s heart, stayed humble and was kind-hearted, especially displayed for his friends and family.
His family was his greatest pride and joy, and he served and loved them well. He was a loving husband, a caring son and son-in-law, a patient father and a very proud grandfather. In recent years, Tim had the joy of getting to see his five grandsons often, cheering them on in all of their activities, and even teaching them new skills while working around the house. He was known as Pop to them, and to numerous nieces and nephews that visited him.
His heart was big for those that he loved and he will be remembered for it well.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 47 years, Linda Martin Gunn; daughter, Crystal (Brett) Riff, son, Timothy M. (Tracey) Gunn; grandsons Nolan, Nicholas, and Cannon Riff, Brody and Colton Gunn; sisters, Lynn (Joel) Robbins, Jeni (Mike) Squiers; brothers-in-law Paul (Betsy) Martin, John (Susie) Martin, Charlie (Kathy) Martin, Kenny (Linda) Martin; sister-in-law, Barbara Martin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father in-law, Alton and Louise Martin; brother-in-law, Lawrence Martin; and niece Lindsey Robbins.
A memorial service will be held at Primrose Funeral Home in Devine, TX on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Reception immediately following at First United Methodist Church of Devine Fellowship Hall.
