The Devine Warhorse JV team were able to beat the Pearsall Mavericks 17-0 last Tuesday, April 18th in Devine.
Pearsall put 1 on the scoreboard in the top of the 1st inning. Devine jumped on with 4 runs to take the lead with a double by Lenard Pompa and a single by Brady Harrell.
Devine scored 3 runs in both the 2nd and 4th innings.
Devine pulled 7 runs in the 3rd inning with a double by Chad Lawson, single by Isaiah Oropeza and a double by Tristan Kramer to put the game out of reach.
Truett Barron, credited with the win, went 5 innings striking out 10, allowing 5 hits and 1 run.
The Warhorse JV shared 16 hits. Lawson, Oropeza, Pompa, Kramer and Joey Seguin had multiple hits against Pearsall.
Martinez took the loss for Pearsall throwing almost 3 innings, giving up 14 runs, 13 hits and 6 KO’s.
