JV Mustangs run all over Sabinal

JV Mustang Adrian Vasuez scored three of Natalia’s nine touchdowns during their impressive game against Sabinal.

The Natalia Junior Varsity Mustangs put on a show from start to finish, as the host Sabinal Jackets had no answer for their potent offense. The boys in blue scored a total of nine times during the scrimmage, and it could have been more, if the staff would have unleashed the Stangs more.
“The JV offense did a great job for their first scrimmage against someone else,” Coach Ilyan Martinez said. “Both offensive groups did a great job of executing their assignments and playing with great effort.”
Natalia had various athletes really shine during the scrimmage on both sides of the football. Offensively, RB Adrian Vasquez led scoring with three touchdowns, as RB Nate Banda was next in line with a pair of scores. QB Jacob Navarro had two touchdowns, as QB Ryan Rizo added a touchdown. Enrique Martinez also scored for the boys in blue.
“Our offensive line did a great job of blocking and allowing our talented backfield to make plays,” Martinez said.
The JV Stangs will open their season on base this Thursday, as they battle the Cole Cougars at 5:00 p.m. A reminder as always, you MUST have your ID in order to enter the base.
