JV Mustangs dominate Lytle

The Natalia JV Mustangs dominated their third straight game of the season, picking up a lop-sided home victory over rival Lytle 62-0. Little did anyone know, this was simply setting up a similar contest Friday night for the varsity boys in blue.
“The JV had a great team win in what is a big game for our kids and community,” Natalia JV Coach Jeff Terry said. “This is a big rivalry game and I am very proud of the way our players performed.”
Tanner Crone led the offense with two receiving touchdowns thanks to Ryan Rizo passes and one rushing touchdown. Nate Banda added two rushing touchdowns, Rizo one rushing in addition to the two passing already mentioned. Chris Saldana added one receiving touchdown and Gabriel Perez added a touchdown via an interception return.
“Our defense had another shut-out and our offense had great production from all of our position players,” Terry said. “Our offensive line did a great job opening holes for our backs and truly protected our QB,” Terry added.
Natalia will have their toughest challenge of the season Thursday on the road as they battle the Jourdanton JV Indians at 5:30 p.m. at Indian Stadium.
