JV B Horses fall short against SA Legacy

On Thursday September 13, the Warhorse freshman football team traveled to Southwest Legacy in San Antonio to face the Titans. In a hard-fought battle, the Horses fell short to Legacy 16-14.
‘Our boys played a tough game against the Titans,” stated Coach Bart Oropeza. “It turned out to be a real battle. The Titans got on the board first by scoring a rushing touchdown and then scoring their 2-point conversion. Our team responded on the next offensive drive with Brady Hackebeil scoring a 5-yard rushing touchdown. However, we failed to score the 2-point conversion in that offensive series and it would come back to haunt us.
With an 8-6 disadvantage going into the halftime break, the Titans went on to score one more touchdown and a 2-point conversion in the 3rd quarter which made the score 16 to 6.
Oropeza commented on Devine’s second half performance. “We responded by putting together a scoring offensive drive to make the score 16 to 14. Brady Hackebeil scored the touchdown while Xavier Contreras scored the 2-point conversion.
Our offensive backs ran the ball tough. Zack Nowicki and Payton Carr got most of our yardage on the ground.”
