JV Arabians wins home tournament

The JV Arabians hosted their annual tournament over the weekend and they played three impressive games. They faced Del Rio twice and then meet Poth in the championship match. “We had to play Del Rio twice because a team from our pool dropped at the last second. The morning started off rough for us but the girls picked it up and got better each time they stepped on the court. By the time we played Poth in the championship game the girls were playing great! We really limited our errors and were aggressive on offense and defense. Very proud of how they played on Saturday and really starting to put some things together as a team,” said Coach Leigh Anne McIver.
In their first match against Del Rio, the Arabians stared off sluggish and lost the first set 21-25. When the second set started, they woke up and took the win at 25-21. In the third set it was close until the end when Devine won 15-13.

Avery Mobley 3 kills. Maddie DuBose 2 aces, 5 kills, 2 blocks. Denise Contreras 8 digs, 2 aces, 4 kills.
In Devine’s second game against Del Rio, the Arabians carried that momentum and quickly beat them 25-19 and 25-12.
