JV Arabian XC wins in Bandera

Getting a first place plaque right out of the gate is exactly what the JV Arabians accomplished at the Bulldog Cross Country Invitational last Wednesday afternoon. The hot temperature did not seem to faze the Arabian runners as all seven runners finished in the top 23 of 89 total participants, with five runners accumulating the 33-point total to claim the team championship, narrowly edging second place finisher Kerrville Tivy who accumulated 34 points.
Individual champion Alexis Shook claimed the top medal out of 89 runners with a time of 14:40. Audrey Longoria took 3rd with a time of 15:02 while newcomer to Devine Alyssa White finished 8th overall with a time of 15:32. Lacey Shook (15th-15:43), Isabel Osorio (17th-15:52), Shelby Joslin (24th-16:24), and Corinne Fowler (29th-16:53) rounded out the scoring finishes for the Arabians.
Alexis, Audrey, Alyssa, and Lacey all held off nearby runners at the finish line that helped propel the Arabians to victory.
