Joan Catherine Biediger Christilles passed away at her home in La Coste on April 15, 2019, the day before her 85th birthday. She was born in San Antonio on April 16, 1934, one of two children of Paul Norbert Biediger, Sr. and Laura Stephanie Sciba Biediger.
Joan attended St. Gerard’s School and graduated from Blessed Sacrament Academy in 1952. She attended Durham’s Business College and worked City Public Service Board until her marriage to Paul Frank Christilles on May 2, 1954.
Joan was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She was a member of La Coste Hermann Sons Lodge and Catholic Life. When her sons were younger, she was a Cub Scout den mother and a member of the Medina Valley Band Boosters.
Survivors include her four sons, Dennis Christilles (Karen) of Lawrence, Kansas, Ernest Christilles (Arlene) of La Coste, Jerome Christilles of La Coste and Warren Christilles (Miriam) of Quihi; grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Ashley, Jacob, Anastasia, Isabella, Noah, Sophia and Franchesca Christilles; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Blake and Eleanor Christilles; and sister-in-law, Allene Biediger.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband on April 23, 2000, Paul Christilles, Jr.; parents, Paul Sr. and Laura Biediger and her brother, Paul Biediger, Jr.
Visitation was Monday, April 22, 2019 starting at 9:00 am at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 11:00 am. Interment followed at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery.
