Janet Louise James Haby went home to the Lord on October 28, 2020 at the age of 71. She was born September27, 1949 in Burlington, Iowa to Benjamin Aubrey James and Gwendolyn Louise James.
On August 7, 1971, Janet married William Russell Haby at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. They were married for forty-six years at the time of his death on November 25, 2017. Janet and William lived in San Antonio their entire marriage. She was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church.
Janet was a fireball and had an independent nature. She had a small frame but always looked out for her family, friends and her cats. During her early years of marriage, she worked for Gill Insurance and other insurance companies in accounting, administration and finance. She was active in stamping and other handicraft activities.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her mother, Gwendolyn Louise James of San Antonio; brother, Stephan A. James (Shereda) of Spicewood; brother-in-law, Harold Haby (Paula) of Mico; nephews, Steve James (Jenny) and Stewart James (Hunter); nieces, Shanan Marek (Dr. Shannon), Jenni Koonce (Roy Lee) and Shyanne Haby; and eleven great nieces and nephews.
Janetwas preceded in death by her father, Benjamin James; and her husband, William Russell Haby.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
