Janet Elaine Chaddock, 65, of Natalia, passed away on Dec 4th, 2020, her daughters by her side. She was born in Kingsville Dec 8, 1954 to John Edward and Velma Waxler Collier, and grew up in Bishop with her 3 siblings. She graduated HS in 1973, then attended Delmar College where she received an LVN degree in 1976.
She worked hard as a home health and long-term care nurse to provide for her three kids, finally settling at Devine Care Center, where she later became a resident herself. She will be remembered for her compassion and devotion as a mom, grandma, friend and nurse, always thinking of others first. Her free time was spent reading, relaxing with family down at the lakehouse, and mostly playing with the “Best Boys”, as she lovingly called her grandsons.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Michael Collier and Beverly Lanmon.
She is survived by her children, Kristin Childs of San Antonio, Jennifer Griffith (Michael “Bubba”) of Pleasanton, and John Chaddock of Natalia; sister, Peggy Lundmark (Donald) of Bishop; “Best Boys”, Riley Torres, Kyler Childs, Weston and Waylon Griffith; and one great-grandson, Tyler Ray Torres.
The memorial service will be held on December 12, 2020 at 11am at Crosspoint Fellowship with Pastor Clyde Butter officiating. Luncheon to follow in Fellowship Hall and potluck dishes are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests living plants or memorial donations to the church.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Devine Care Center, as well as the physicians and nursing staff at Methodist Stone Oak, for providing the same respect and compassionate care that Janet always showed her own patients.
