James Wesley Kenyon, age of 82, passed away on December 26, 2018 at his home in San Antonio with his family at his side. He was born March 2, 1936 in Stanberry, Missouri to Jacob Wesley Kenyon and Dorothy Luella Johnson Kenyon.
James graduated from Stanberry High School in Missouri. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1976. James began a second career, becoming the owner and operator of Kenyon Trucking LLC in San Antonio.
On September 8, 1962, he married Cornelia “Corky” Green in Paris, Tennessee. Their marriage of over 56 years was blessed with two sons, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Wesley Kenyon and Dorothy Luella Johnson Kenyon; brother Rex O. Kenyon.
Survivors include his wife, Cornelia “Corky” Kenyon of San Antonio; sons, James Bradley (Joann) Kenyon of San Antonio and Jeffery Brian (Amber) Kenyon of Big Foot; grandchildren, Christopher (Kathleen) Kenyon, Cameron Kenyon, Devin Kenyon, Andrew Kenyon and Kelsi Barnett; great-grandchildren, Kenzi and Kiara Kenyon; sister, Beatrice Schneider of St. Joseph, Missouri; brother, Robert Kenyon of Holts Summit, Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was Monday, January 7, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Graveside Committal Service with Full Military Honors was Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 10:00 am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #1.
