Services for Jack E. Banks was held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11am at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Chapel in Mabank, Texas with Pastor Michael Adalian officiating. Interment followed the service at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Park.
Jack was born on April 19, 1927 in Bardley, MO to parents Jessie and Trola (Skipworth) Banks and entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2018 at the age of 90. Jack served in the United States Army and was a WWII Veteran. He was part of the “greatest generation” and was honored to serve his county. Jack was married to the love of his life, Dorothy Harris, on February 10, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas and at the time ofhis passing they had been married for 70 years. He worked for Shell Oil Company for 35 years. Most of his time with Shell was in Bigfoot, Texas. Jack was hardworking, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t or couldn’t do. He was fun loving and would give the shirt off of his back to help someone. Jack loved hunting, fishing and hunting for arrowheads. He loved to eat and he could make a mean batch of jerky. Jack and Dorothy enjoyed traveling in their camper trailer, they loved going to New Mexico and Colorado. Jack was a good Christian man and loved his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. To sum it all up Jack’s daughter-in-law, Mary, said he had “A life well lived!”
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, son Bobby Garrison Banks and brother Phanon Banks and wife Clorain, brother Estel H. Banks and wife Vona, brother Nobal E. Banks and wife Helen and brother Floyd “Doc” Banks.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Banks of Enchanted Oaks, daughter-in-law Mary Banks of Arlington, many nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more friends.
