Indians take control late vs. Natalia Baseball

The Natalia Mustangs gave the 2nd seed Jourdanton Indians all they could handle for the first five innings of their 27-3A battle last week in Natalia. Unfortunately, J-Town took control in the 5th as they added three runs to their 3-2 lead en route to a lop-sided 12-2 7-inning victory over Natalia.
Natalia’s Manuel Garcia did his job well for the 6.2 innings on the mound vs. the powerful Indian offense. Garcia pitched 6.2 walking three, striking out five and allowing over 10 hits during the contest. It was 5+ errors which proved costly and also resulted in the lop-sided finish.
Jourdanton scored their first run of the game thanks to a double and a pair of singles in their opening at bat.
The boys in blue responded by tying things in the bottom of the 1st. They used a base on balls by Gavin Martinez before he scored courtesy of grounds outs by Fabian Ruiz and Manuel Garcia.
Jourdanton scored their 2nd run of the game in the top of the 3rd inning thanks to a double by Berg and a single by Kraft to take a short-lived 2-1 lead.
Natalia tied things in the bottom of the 3rd, as they used an error put into play by Xavier Vasquez, a ground-out by Fabian Ruiz and a single by Manuel Garcia to tie things 2-2.
The game would stand tied until the top of the 5th when the Indians were able to take the lead. J-Town used an error put into play by Fuselier, a pair of walks, an error and a single to take a 3-2 lead.
J-Town would take over in the 6th scoring three runs on one walk, one error and three singles to take a 6-2 lead.
The Tribe put Natalia away with a six run 7th en route to a lop-sided 12-2 finish.
