Several discoveries of skeletal remains have been found on area ranches, and sadly, authorities believe the remains that have been uncovered are that of a human being.
The remains have been found on properties located on County Road 5780, which is a side road off of FM 1343 between Devine and Castroville.
“Back in November, a landowner turned in what we believe is a human jaw that was found while cleaning up their property in the Castroville area,” said Chief Deputy Gilbert Rodriguez.
Medina County Deputies then searched the area, finding some additional skeletal remains.
“Then this past weekend, another landowner on a neighboring property found what’s believed to be a skull while cleaning up his property, which he recently acquired.”
“We believe these human remains have been out there for a while. We are in the process of having testing done and are awaiting results,” Chief Deputy Rodriguez said.
