But that’s exactly what happened to one local homeowner this past weekend, who dialed 9-1-1 after he saw two suspects burglarizing his home in Lytle this past Sunday night. The home is located in Medina County on CR 6850 inside the Twin Lakes Subdivision.
“The homeowner was out of town, but he was able to see them on his home security system so he called the Sheriff’s Department,” said Deputy Chief Gilbert Rodriguez. “Deputies responded and found one man, who was still inside the residence when deputies arrived. He tried to hide, but it didn’t work. He was taken into custody without further incident.”
“At some point while the homeowner was watching the burglary take place, one of the suspects apparently unplugged the security system, but we were already on our way there,” Rodriguez said.
A second suspect who was seen in the video burglarizing the home got away.
One of the suspects was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation, as well as Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was booked into Medina County Jail.
