Harvey Lee Kunze, PE, RPLS,age 87 of LaCoste, Texas,passed into the arms of his Savior and his beloved Norene peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Harvey Lee was born on June 29, 1931 in La Coste, Texas to George and Emma Geiger Kunze.
Harvey Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Norene Marie Mangold of nearly 52 years; his parents, George and Emma Kunze; in-laws, Norvel and Ruby Mangold; brothers, George Jr., Eldrich; and infant brother.
He is survived by his sons and their families, George Norvel(Sandra), Karl Lee, and Kurt Eric(Cynthia) Kunze. Opa, as he was known to his beloved grandchildren, Shannah(Justin) Mills, Emery(Andrew) Wilkerson, and Eric Kunze. He is also survived by his sister, Lillian Kunze Pittman.
He was an active member and Sunday school leader at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo, Texas until he was unable to drive any longer.
Harvey Lee served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1953. He was a proud Korean War Veteran. He was a member of the Hermann Son’s Life, Medina Valley VFW #8134 and American Legion Weiss-Wurzbach Post #460.
He worked in the civil engineering and surveying field in San Antonio and its surrounding counties until he no longer was able to dueto ailing health.
The family would like to thank Dr. J. Salinas’ Family & Staff and Kindred Hospice for providing for Dad’s health needs in a loving family atmosphere over the past nine months.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with Prayer and Scripture Readings at 7 p.m. Interment for family will be private.
