Harold Harden Forshee, of San Antonio, passed away on August 8, 2017 in San Antonio, just days before his 84th birthday. He and his twin sister, Kate, were born August 11, 1933 in Worth County, Georgia, to parents Clyde Horace Forshee, Sr. and Susan Harden Forshee.
Harold was a retired veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served in both Korea and Vietnam. He retired in 1971 as Senior Chief Petty Officer. On April 14, 1964, he married Aree Robertson in Kingsland, Georgia. They were married for 49 years at the time of her death on May 27, 2013. Harold was a member Medina Valley VFW #8134.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Aree Forshee; brothers and sisters-in-law, E.J. Forshee, Clyde and Doris Forshee, Bob and Donna Forshee; sisters and brother-in-law, Latrelle Weist, Selma and George Gray; step-sons-in-law, Bruce Vasser and Bernie Steinhouse.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, George Forshee of Charleston, South Carolina, Karl and Sheri Forshee of Waller, Texas, David and Cyndi Forshee of Castroville, Texas; step-son, Steven Douglas and wife Pat of Flagstaff, Arizona; step-daughters, Elizabeth Vassar of Charleston, South Carolina and Connie Mosley Steinhouse of Bluffton, South Carolina; 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; twin sister and brother-in-law, Kate and Arthur Justice of Florence, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Carol (Mrs. E.J.) Forshee of Houston; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Thursday, August17, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Harold’s memory to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice.
