George Edward Pyron Jr., of Hondo, Texas, known by all as Bud, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the age of 79. He was born on May 3, 1940 in Uvalde, Texas to George Edward and Ruby Nell (Kurz) Pyron.
Bud is a graduate of Somerset High School where he played baseball and football. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country proudly. He was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lytle and was a life-long retailer. He enjoyed music, especially classical and singing. He was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and the Baylor Bears. When Bud wasn’t busy with retailing, he enjoyed traveling and stopping by every True Value Hardware along the way. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Paulette (Schlessiger) Pyron; mother, Ruby Nell (Kurz) Pyron; sons, Kyle Pyron and wife Christine, Coby Pyron and wife Stacy, Dennis Reed and wife Becky; daughters, Karyn Allen and Marilyn Graff and husband Tom; sister, Lynnell Pilgrim. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jackson, Ella, Alex, Derek, Kevin, Jared, Holly, Reed, Patrick and Ryan.
He is preceded in death by his father, George Edward Pyron Sr., son, Erick Reed and nephew, Zachary Pilgrim.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Hurley Funeral Home, 14822 Main Street, Lytle, Texas 78052 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Bexar Cemetery, FM 2790, Somerset, Texas.
The family would like to thank Community Care Center in Hondo as well as Alamo Hospice for the loving care they showed to Bud and the family. They also would like to thank Margie Sommers for her special care.
