Freshmen Horses light up Rockets 34-30 in offensive slugfest

The scoreboard operator was busy Thursday night at Frank Mata Stadium as the Warhorses and Kennedy Rockets put on an offensive showcase. Devine came out on top 34-30, securing the victory with a Zack Nowicki 3 yard run late in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback Brady Hackebeil scored three rushing touchdowns from distances of 37, 22, and 28 yards. In the second quarter, Hackebeil lined up as receiver on the left side of the field and caught a pass from backup quarterback Cody Trammell from 26 yards out. That score was set up by a kickoff return, forced fumble by pursuing Warhorse Terry Cristanelli and a recovery by an alert Mason Martinez at the Horses 43-yard line.
Tailback Nowicki ran in the two-point conversion after Hackebeil’s 28-yard score, while Hackebeil returned the favor by getting the two-pointer after Nowicki’s three-yard game clinching touchdown.
