With Pearsall not having enough players for two sub-varsity teams, the freshman Warhorses traveled to Medina Valley to take on the Panthers last Thursday evening. Devine lost 16-33.
“The kids played a tough Medina Valley team,” said Coach Bart Oropeza. “We lost 16 to 33. Marcus Rodriguez scored the first touchdown and Jaden Burford scored the 2-point conversion. Our last touchdown came by way of 60-yard pass from Jaden Burford to Camden White. Marcus Rodriguez punched in the 2-point conversion. Overall, our boys played hard but a few too many turnovers really hurt our chances of winning the game.”
