Francisco “Frank” Juarez Gomez

Francisco “Frank” Juarez Gomez, of Castroville, passed away on January 13th, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 61 years. He was born March 30th, 1957 on a ranch in Bexar County, Texas.
Law enforcement was Frank’s passion and as a Texas Master Peace Officer, he lived and breathed to serve and protect for 28 years. Yet, while having worked for other law enforcement departments and agencies, his last positions before having to medically relinquish his career were as a Corporal for the University of the Incarnate Word Police Department and a Firearms and Tactical instructor for Alamo Colleges – SAC Police Academy. Of course, he had several other interests to name a few, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, horseback riding, trail rides, baseball games, softball tournaments, sitting on the cabin porch, hog hunting, sitting in the sun, dancing, watching old westerns and action-packed movies, playing his bass guitar for church and involvement in church ministries, yet most of all he loved spending time with his wife, grandchildren, children, family and friends. Although, when he worked with the San Antonio Missions Baseball team as their Security Liaison he was able to mix his law enforcement working ethics with the enjoyment of the sport. Yet, with his interest in Texas history, westerns and “the law” he became a member of the “Badland Texas Rangers” to help educate school age children about the mid 1800’s era of the Texas Rangers. Also, Frank loved to travel, so between his 16 years of service with the Navy and Texas Army National Guard, driving 18-wheelers for a time and driving buses for the university athletic teams, he enjoyed his time while out on the road. Frank lived his life having done much with so much more to do…
