Four Corners intersection in downtown Devine to close from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am as City searches for water leak using sonar

Sonar equipment will be brought in tonight in hopes of detecting water leak in Downtown Devine under the road, roads closed 7:00 PM- 6:00 AM.

April 22, 2019- Downtown intersection CLOSED TONIGHT..The City of Devine will be repairing a Water Leak in the area of the intersection of Teel Dr. (Tx Hwy 132) and Hondo Ave. (Tx Hwy 173).
This repair will be occurring today, Monday, April 22, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. The City be closing this area to all traffic while correcting this issue.
Please use an alternate route during this time. The City’s goal is to have the water leak resolved by 6:00 a.m.
TXDOT found a leak in the road between Exxon and Shell during road construction. The City is unaware of any lines there, so a company with sonar equipment has been called in to help detect the leak.
According to City Administrator Dora Rodriguez, the water could be shut off at some point for an unknown amount of time depending on what is found. It is unknown how big or small the problem will be.
Rodriguez and all Public Works staff will be at the downtown traffic light area tonight.
TXDOT wants to finish the reconstruction of Hwy. 173 and notified the City of their chance to fix the leak before repaving is complete.
