Elvera Rosette Talanco Skolaut

Elvera Rosette Talanco Skolaut, of San Antonio, passed away on November4, 2019 at the age of 84 years. She was born March 18, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas to Stefano Talanco and Grace Harris Talanco.
On October 18, 1953, Elvera married Edgar Herbert Skolaut at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in San Antonio. Edgar passed away in 1993, eighteen days before they would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
Elvera and Edgar, Sr. were part of a group of original founding members of St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church.
Survivors include her sons, Edgar H. Skolaut, Jr. (Helen) of Rio Medina and Douglas Edward Skolaut (Janice Grider) of Sonora; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline Meyer (Christopher) of Cotulla; grandchildren, Anastasia (Gordon) Hitzfelder, Christina (Emmanuel) Santana, Mindy (Dale) Oster, Brandy (Carlos III) Sanchez, Christopher (Bonnie) Meyer II, Emily (Bobby) Nolan and Courtney (Abel) Dennis; great-grandchildren, Emelia, Florence, Harris and Hart Hitzfelder, Violet and Greenlee Santana, Tye and Bryka Dennis, Carlos IV and Gracen Sanchez, Christopher Royce Meyer III and Elizabeth and Grant Nolan; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Dittlinger and Crystal Skolaut.
Elvera was preceded in death by her parents, Stefano and Grace Talanco; husband, Edgar H. Skolaut; sisters and their spouses, Edith (R.Q.) Stinson and Virginia (Aviel) Persyn; infant sister, Dolores Talanco; brothers, Marion Talanco and Antonio Talanco; great-grandchild, Maelee Grace Sanchez.
Visitation will be Monday, November 11, 2019 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 1306 Angelo St., Castroville, Texas, starting at 2:00 pm followed by the Holy Rosary recited at 3:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Road, San Antonio, Texas. Interment will follow at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery #2 in San Antonio, Texas.
Memorials may be made in Elvera’s memory to St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church, St. Louis Catholic School or the charity of your choice.
