The Devine Arabians undefeated, 8 and 0 district basketball campaign was widely recognized by the other four head coaches from Crystal City, Carrizo Springs, and Pearsall. Eight Devine players received acknowledgement for a job well done.
Leading the way in District 29-4A was senior Vanessa Oyola who was voted Co-MVP along with senior Klaudia Contreras of Crystal City. Senior Jenna Sadler received the Offensive MVP while fellow senior Ariel Lopez shared the Defensive MVP with sophomore Marinela Ortiz of Crystal City.
Senior Julia Harrell was voted onto the 1st Team while senior Tori Martin and sophomore Preslee Quisenberry made the 2nd Team. Senior Taylor Diaz and junior Chesney Friesenhahn were named Honorable Mention.
“I thought the all-district selections really honored our kids for their hard work this season,” stated Head Coach Jim Sessions. “These awards really mirrored the success of the entire team during the season. I am very proud of the fact that this team was well represented with these post-season awards.”
