Doris Faye Sweger Rohde, of Bigfoot TX, was born in Mechanicsburg, PA on September 13, 1934 to Nevin G. and Violet (Shelly) Sweger Sr. Doris went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the age of 86.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Rohde Sr.;infant son, Marvin;son, Michael Rohde; father, Nevin Sweger Sr.; mother, Violet Kelly; stepmother, Faye Sweger and sister, Betty Zimmerman.
For many years, Doris was a supervisor at Winn’s Warehouse in San Antonio before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, yardwork and traveling while she was still able to do so. She was a hard worker despite physical disabilities she had delt with since childhood. The yearly, “Sausage Making Weekend”,was always supervised by Doris and was just one of the family events she really enjoyed along with holidays. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devine and belonged to the Christian Mothers Association.
Doris is survived by her children and their spouses, Deborah and Gary Boenish of Adkins, TX and Marvin E. and Donna Rohde Jr. of Devine, TX; grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Ann Calame Sr., Patrick and Ali Rohde, Nichole Rohde, Andrew Boenish, Christopher and Bridgette Rohde; great-grandchildren, Scott Calame Jr., Aden Calame, Kadece Calame, Preston Calame, Paxton Rohde, Peytton Rohde, and Theodore Rohde; sister, Bernice Snyder; brother, Nevin Sweger Jr.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Devine, TX.
