The JV Arabians and Warhorses took on Seguin on March 4th. Bringing home 1st in girls’ singles, 2nd and 3rd in girls’ doubles, and consolation in boys’ doubles, the JV tennis players are making a great name for themselves and are ready to take on Medina Valley on March 25th.
Savanna Pequeno won 1st in girls singles, 6-1, 6-2—6-1, 6-1—6-3, 6-0-6-1, 6-3. Makayla Breiten/Abbie Dominguez won 2nd in girls doubles 6-0, 6-0-6-0, 6-0-7-5, 6-4-4-6, 6-3, 6-10. Bailey Ornelas/Alanna Monreal won 3rd in girls doubles 6-1, 6-3-1-6, 4-6-9-7. Justin Rozier in boys singles 0-6, 0-6-4-8. Hector Garza/Tommie Hinkle won consolation in boys doubles, 2-6, 6-7-8-6-8-0. Adam Salinas/Juan Zamora in boys doubles 0-6, 1-6-0-8. Ted Hinkle/Iris Stricker in mixed doubles, 6-2, 3-6.7-10-3-8. Adam Moreno/Trinity Spurgers in mixed doubles, 4-6, 2-66-3, 3-6, 13-11-4-8.
Varsity
With their season half over, Devine took on Seguin on March 5th. “I look forward to our tough tournaments coming up after spring break, to get ready for district and beyond,” said Coach Mark Feltner. Devine heads to district on April 12-13th in Somerset.

Cameron English/Kelsey Dishman won 1st in girls doubles, 6-4, 6-4-6-2, 6-2-6-3, 6-2. Danelly Rodriguez/Kylee Saunders girls doubles 6-2, 6-4-6-3, 5-7, 6-10-5-8. Hayden Johnson boys singles, 4-6, 3-6—3-8. Victor Schaefer/Juan Lopez won 2nd in boys doubles 6-4, 6-46-0, 6-2-3-6, 7-6, 10-8-2-6, 3-6. Aidan Hildenbrand/Corwin Flores boys doubles, 7-5, 6-2—2-6, 5-7. Laurel Spannagel/Brian Schaefer won 1st in mixed doubles, 6-2, 6-4-6-1, 6-2-6-2, 6-3. Josette Villanueva/Damien Araujo won 3rd place in mixed doubles, 6-1, 6-3—6-1, 6-3—3-6, 3-6—8-3.
Brooke Runyan headed to San Marcos to compete on March 5th. She won the girls singles with scores of 6-2, 6-2-6-2, 6-0-6-3, 6-1.
