Devine ISD hosts Open House for Texas Public School Week March 4-8

Devine ISD will celebrate Public School Week from March 4-8, 2019. Devine ISD will join students and educators throughout the State of Texas in inviting their communities to visit schools to see firsthand how students are preparing for the future.
Texas Public School Week was established in 1950 by the Masonic Lodges of Texas to recognize contributions made by the state’s free system of education. Each year the event has grown and it continues as a meaningful way to showcase the many educational opportunities afforded to the more than four million students attending Texas Public Schools. Since 1954 school districts and communities across Texas have celebrated the success of public education during Public School Week.
“Schools are the hub of our communities and Texas Public School Week is an excellent opportunity for our parents, family, and community members to visit our schools.” said Devine ISD Superintendent Scott Sostarich. “Devine Schools offer many great opportunities for our students and we invite parents and community members to attend the open house events during Texas Public Schools Week.”
Devine High School and Devine Middle School
The DHS and DMS Open House will take place on Tuesday, March 5th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Parents and students can visit teachers in their classrooms during this time.
JJ Ciavarra Elementary and Devine Intermediate
The elementary and intermediate campuses will host Open House on Thursday, March 7th from 5:30 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Parents will have the opportunity visit classroom and view student achievements.
We will also be sending out parent surveys during Public School Week. We want to hear what you think about your child’s school! This year we are encouraging parents to complete their surveys online. Please fill out one survey per campus. Please let us know what is good and what isn’t, so we can work to make our school better. Your feedback is very important. If you would like to participate, please select the link below. We value your opinion about your child’s school and will use the information to help improve the climate and safety of our schools.
For your convenience, a computer lab at each campus will be available for you to complete the parent climate survey the night of Open House.
