Rowdie is back
Miss Rowdie Johnson is entering her second season as sole dance instructor for Devine Hermann Sons Dance and her third season as sole instructor for Castroville Hermann Sons Dance. Miss Rowdie, as her students call her, began dancing with Hermann Sons at age 13 and quickly discovered her love for not only performing but instructing. From Hermann Sons Miss Rowdie joined LA Performing Arts in San Antonio where she studied ballet and Contemporary and was a member of their dance team, The Sensations. Until their closing.
She joined Collective Dance Artistry in 2019 where she studied tap, contemporary, jazz and where she quickly advanced in ballet under the guidance of Ballet Master
Keith Duncan. Miss Rodie was given the opportunity to be an Apprentice instructor under Mr. Duncan and shortly after, became a substitute teacher for the Collective.
Currently, Miss Rowdie is receiving instruction in ballet at Dance Center of San Antonio under Mrs. Vanessa Bessler, Mr Nurlan Kinerbayev and Ms. Aliaksandra Sasha Krukava. She also performs with the Children’s Ballet of San Antonio where the children of all ages and abilities can dance alongside pro and semi pro dancers from the Dance Center.
Miss Rowdie has danced lead roles such as Canid Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and Arabian Princess in Cinderella as well as Snow Soloist and multiple corps rolls. She has been blessed to have students from both studios attend these productions and see her on stage. Miss Rowdie credits having amazing teachers of her own along the way as the reason for her love of instruction. She believes dance helps set a foundation in life skills such as confidence, teamwork, understanding that learning never stops and most of all patience. Everything in life, like dance, progresses step by step.
Miss Rowdie has taught students of multiple ages and abilities and looks forward to the coming dance season.
