Devine Garden Club plans trip to Sandy Oaks Olive Tree Orchard May 23

The Devine Garden Club is visiting Sandy Oaks Olive Tree Orchard May 23.

The next meeting of the Devine Garden Club, Medina County’s oldest garden club, will be Thursday, May 23, 2019. This will be our annual field trip and the installation of officers for 2019-2021.
A lovely day is planned as we travel to Sandy Oaks Olive Tree Orchard, 25295 Mathis Road, Elmendorf, Texas. After enjoying a Dutch-Treat lunch at the orchard restaurant, members will hear a brief history of the orchard from Susan Winokur, Owner. Those wishing to tour the orchard will, for a small fee, be free to do that.
The business meeting’s main focus will be the installation of officers for the next two years. Those elected at the April meeting were: President Elsa Rodrigues, Vice President Miriam Garcia, Recording Secretary Sarah McAlpin, Corresponding Secretary Alma Horvath, Treasurer Leslie Monette, Historian Susan Wisenbaker. Immediate past president, Sandra Stacy will serve on the Executive Committee and will conduct the installation of officers.
Members wishing to carpool for the field trip are asked to meet at the community center parking lot on State Hwy. 173, near the library, at 10:00 am. Departure time will be 10:15 am. Please RSVP to Dorothy Saunders or Sandra Stacy by Wednesday, May 22.
Guests are always welcome to come and enjoy the afternoon with us as we learn about olive trees and enjoy a nice casual lunch at the Sandy Oaks Olive Tree Orchard in Elmendorf, Texas.
We are so thankful for the much needed rains. Happy Gardening!
