December meeting
The next meeting of the Devine Garden Club will be Thursday, December 12 at 3:00 pm in the Horvath home, 135 C.R. 7811, Natalia, Texas. Hostesses for this meeting will be Alma Horvath, Sarah McAlpin, and Andrea Vasquez. The program will be “Mistletoe- Customs and Crafts.” After a brief business meeting, the annual Christmas Social will begin. Members are requested to bring an appetizer or dessert to share, a $5.00-$10.00 wrapped gift for the gift exchange, and canned goods or monies for the Devine Food Pantry. Visitors are always welcomed.
Happenings
Meeting: The November meeting featured Medina County Agri-Life Agent, Andrew Hatcher, who spoke on the soils of our area and how best to grow a healthy landscape. The business meeting included a report on our Fall Fest Plant Sale, the upcoming District VII TGC, Inc. Fall Meeting, our annual Fall scarecrow display, and plans for our December activities. Delicious refreshments were served by our hostesses Laura Sinclair and Dorothy Saunders.
Activites: The following ladies attended the District VII TGC Fall Meeting in San Antonio: Elsa Rodrigues, Miriam Garcia, Sandra Stacy, Dinah Argo, Cherri Buddington, and Kathleen Zadik. Members of the club have been busy sprucing up the Four Corners area. In addition to this, the Nativity scene was set-up by Sondra Rackley, Susan Wisenbaker, and Sandra Stacy with a helping hand from Ronnie Rackley and David Rodrigues.
