Devine FCCLA sweeps Nationals

Abby Kohlleppel, Emily Kohlleppel, Cassie Wood, and Amanda Richardson show off the Gold medals they won at FCCLA Nationals in Atlanta.

The DHS FCCLA teams of Amanda Richardson and Cassie Wood and Abby and Emily Kohlleppel each received Gold at the FCCLA Nationals in Atlanta.
Richardson and Wood won Illustrated Talk Occupational, while the Kohlleppels won Illustrated Talk Senior.
“Three seniors, Amanda, Cassie, and Emily, ended their high school FCCLA career with several titles, but the most important is the ability to accomplish plans and impact lives,” DHS FCCLA sponsor Madeline Steubing said. “They will continue to make a difference wherever their life leads them.
“Abby Kohlleppel, an incoming senior, has high expectations for her last year.”
The Kohlleppels reached over 900 people with their project Farm to Classroom and worked with the Farm Bureau. Richardson and Wood reached 200 people with their project Fostering and Children with the help of Angels Crossing.
Both teams were on their second consecutive trip to Nationals. Last year, the Kohlleppels won Gold in Chapter Service Project Display, while Richardson and Wood took Silver in Interpersonal Communication.
“We want to thank our parents and members of our school for supporting us,” Steubing said. “We appreciate the Devine community and businesses for their encouragement and contributions to FCCLA.”
