Dennis Wayne Stewart

Dennis Wayne Stewart, native of Devine, TX, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2019, at the age of 73. Following his graduation from Devine High School in 1964, Dennis served in the U. S. Air Force during the Viet Nam conflict. After honorably serving his country, Dennis returned to Texas and completed his education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation from UT in 1973, Dennis took his family to Channelview, TX, where he was employed by several major engineering firms before following his career to Phoenix, AZ. Dennis retired from Arizona Power and Light in 2010, ending his distinguished engineering career. After retiring, Dennis returned to his home state, settling down in Kingwood, TX, surrounded by his daughters, grandsons, and great-grandchildren.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene (Happy) Stewart and Trecia Elizabeth (Baker) Stewart, from Devine, TX, and great-granddaughter Kylie Noel Robinson. Surviving siblings are Betty Mittanck of Devine, TX, Eunice Phillips of Georgetown, TX, Eugene D. Stewart of San Antonio, TX and Richard (Rick) Stewart of Devine, TX. Dennis is survived by his bride of forty-seven years, T J Stewart, and their three daughters, Kimberly Diane Stewart of Katy, TX, Elizabeth Anne Vines of Bayou Vista, TX, and Rebecca Lynne Lopez of Andrews, TX. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also celebrate the life of their “Papaw.”
