Delia Lopez Zapata, 74 of Big Foot, entered rest on October 19, 2020 at her home. She was born on December 9, 1945 in Devine to Secundino Lopez and Maria “Matus” Espinosa Lopez. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew “Butch” Zapata of Big Foot; children, Laura Ann Zapata of Natalia, Juanita Zapata of Natalia and Andrew Zapata Jr. and wife Dawn of Devine. Siblings: Rosa Covarrubia of San Antonio, Frank Lopez of Devine, Richard Lopez of Devine, Felipe Lopez of Ballinger and Salina Ochoa of Ballinger. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jordan Ashley Zapata, Andrew Quentin Zapata and Aiden Charles Zapata, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Andrew Quentin Zapata, Aiden Charles Zapata, David Gonzales, Mike Covarrubia, Ronnie Covarrubia and Frank Covarrubia.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels from 2pm-9pm with a rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral mass was celebrated on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Devine at 10am. Interment followed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Devine.
