Corrie Edward Mays returned home to the loving arms of our heavenly father on March 13, 2024, at the age of 87. Corrie is preceded in death by his wife, Ida (Waneck) Mays, his mother and father, and his son Brian. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Allen) Sansom of Devine, Diane (Abel) Valdez of San Antonio, and Denise Mays of Natalia, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Corrie was a passionate person in his younger years; he enjoyed working on cars and vending machines and playing golf. During these activities, he made friends, including Rick, Brooks and Floyd, whom he has had for a lifetime. He enjoyed life on his little farm in Lytle Ranch Acres until they sold the property in 2006. Alongside his wife, they purchased an RV and moved in behind the church they had attended for so long. He planted numerous Oak trees along the church’s driveway to make the church a nice place to be and add some shade for parking in the Texas summer heat.
Corrie will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of life for Corrie will be held at the Crossroads Community Church, formerly the Medina Valley Church of the Nazarene, on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2 pm.
